Rural Studio in Barbaros
A rural studio in Barbaros started with analyzing the village and its environment. The building hosts 2 scientists who come to Barbaros to investigate agriculture and flora. Scientists stay for four months and the building can be used by local people on other days of the year. There are mainly two axes in the site. One of them perpendicular to the main axis of the village, one of them is parallel to the main axis. Stone used as material on walls which intersecting village axis. There are places where local people can use with themself or they can be teached by scientist in the experimentation garden. Building located to site according to site levels while exploring tectonical relationships between spaces.
Future Library
People used to refer to books to learn, Nowadays, they reach information by discussing with people or with technological instruments. Interacting has become a very important tool to get the right information. Our design has created a library where people can interact with different possibilities by forcing the potential and limits of the space.
Different scale spaces have been formed with the panels those turn around itself and slide on the axis. Designed panels are transparent in some parts to improve the efficiency of the space, some parts there are places for writing and some parts it blocks the visual connection via opaque panels.
Container in Iceland
The container will be used on the purpose of accomodation for the people who do
trekking and hiking in spring and summer. It is a prototype that will be placed on the
standart trekking and hiking path. It may be repeated along the path several times
according to need. Capacity of the container allows maximum 4 people to stay and rest for one or two days except emergency situations. The design will focus primarily
necessities such as heating, sheltering, protection of the wild land, harsh air conditions
Instead of giving the hotel comfort level. It will be rented before starting to the
trekking/hiking.
Monad
The cities today grow day by day bringing along with a lot of problems. In this period
of growth, every single structure we build causes different urban and
environmental problems and negative effects on people. Those problems occur
out of the uncontrolled growth of the cities, the life cycle of restained material that
shortens buildings life and wasting the qualities of places.Under the definition of
digital cities, our design will solve all of those problems and will bring so many
possibilities with the help of swarm intelligence. It will operate cities' dynamism and
adaptivity. Rather than designing an urban plan, with the parameters and urban
life’s needs, it’s going to organize itself in the most efficient way. Swarm
intelligence system allows the urban environment to be responsive to its habitat
and urban life.The intelligence of units creates structures with the self-awareness
that knows how to assemble themselves by working like the connected group,
build themselves according to the cities needs. Since the current cities have been
evolved through interaction with its environment and occupants, digital cities will
self-organize according to different parameters.
Mission Aquarius
The human population has increased without any restraints so that there is lack of space for humanity to live in the world. At the same time, the governments don’t want people to cut one more tree for construction anymore because air pollution was increased dramatically. People researched for many years and decided to move to the oceans. It was hard to settle and get use to at the begining for first colonies of the water. Because of the air pollution, private spaces are located below the water surface. Public spaces consist of geodesic domes which have solar panels and green-field which are found above the water level. When an emergency situation, domes can be seperated from the core and provide transportation to other constructions and lands and the core can close itself. Moreover, private houses turn around the core with the help of warm current and they can produce energy.
